How Candlesisters came about

 One night a few years ago, I couldn’t sleep. I had awakened time
and again with an idea that would not quiet down and allow me to
sleep. This went on for several nights. I finally got up out of
my warm and cozy bed to write down the ideas that kept
interrupting my sleep. The next morning, I really gave the idea
some serious thought and realized that here was something
special to share with my family and loved ones. I felt that it
was a way for us to join each week in Spirit, and by performing
the small ritual I believed that it would enrich the lives of
each one of us.
One by one as I could afford it, I sought out and purchased a
candle holder, along with 52 tea lites, and sent one to my
mother, my sisters, and my lady friends. Along with my gift, I
included a note expressing the idea that had come to me and
asking them to share in the weekly ritual. Each woman, when
given the candle holder, tea lites and my written explanation of
its purpose, overwhelmingly accepted the challenge and agreed
happily to do it.
As the weeks went by, my loved ones and I found inspiration,
illumination, clarity of purpose, and a profound feeling of
being part of something special. I was happy and content with
the way things were going, until......
One night over the Christmas holidays, I was spending time with
my extended family when I was again awakened and inspired. This
time it didn’t take several nights to get the message! I got it
right away. Spirit filled me with an idea, an idea to take the
Candlesisters to a higher level. I was inspired to take the
Candlesisters to all women across our planet that could benefit
from the same sharing of spirituality, sisterhood, and love that
I and my small circle of friends and family were sharing and
enjoying. I wrote down the ideas that flooded my mind and heart
through Spirit that night, and shared them with my husband the
next morning. With his love and support, Candlesisters has
become a reality.
